I’m looking forward to a traditional Maori feast
There are some nice rotorua motels that have various tourist accommodation packages on at the moment that offer deals including accommodation, buffet breakfast and different excursions. I picked one particular motel called The Four Canoes which has a special on that includes a special viewing at a museum of a Po Whiri and dance which is a traditional Maori Welcome and also a Hangi to share with other guests, which is a traditional Maori feast where native sweet potatoes called Kumara, and other root vegetables and meats are cooked underground that ends up producing a wonderful smoky flavor from the manuka tree branches that they put underground with the hot coals. It sounds delicious and I can’t wait to try it.
