HAND CRANK SPICE GRINDERS-HOW DO THEY WORK?

The hand crank spice grinders are one of the handiest tools in the kitchen today. They are usually made of a long aluminum shaft with a wooden housing. Inside the shaft is a grinding mechanism consisting of metal burrs. On one end of the shaft is where you insert your spices or seeds. The other end is where the finely ground pieces come out. The wooden housing enables you to have a firm grip while rotating the crank handle on the other end of the shaft. As you rotate the crank handle, this activates the grinding mechanism inside the shaft. Since this is manually operated, you can control the texture of the ground ingredients. These gadgets save you cooking time and electricity costs.
