Proprioceptive insoles
Foot orthotics are used to treat a wide range of biomechanical and dysfunctional problems of the foot and lower limb. All the studies have shown that foot orthotics work and not one study has shown that they do not work. There is, however, debate about how and why they work. Some think that they work by changing alignment; other think they work by supporting the arch of the foot; others think they work by changing the load in the tissues; some think they work by changing neurophysiological methods. Some have even designed what they call proprioceptive insoles which are supposed to work via neurophysiological methods.
