Rusting Mining Equipment
A major concern in mining is dust management. The copious amounts of dust created by drilling and blasting can cause major problems for miners and the mining equipment they use. Some dust types, like coal dust, for example, can be quite harmful when inhaled, and require the use of respirator systems when above a certain level in the air. One of the best ways to control the amount of dust created is to address it at the source, which is at the drilling point. High quality polycrystalline diamond drill bits have been shown to reduce respirable by almost 80%.
