Ouch – the Cost of Car Repairs
We decided when we bought our last car that we could save money by forgoing the extended warranty. When we were contacted by phone about insurance for breakdown cover, we said no again. We are so sorry we did that and have promised ourselves never to be without that kind of coverage again. No sooner had our warranty expired that we were faced with the cost of a transmission job and, just a few months later, we paid for exhaust problems. Between those two major repairs, we could have paid for protection and then some. It was an expensive lesson to learn.
